Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Web Design and Technology [KPT/JPS (KA7688) 07/12] The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Web Design and Technology is an exciting programme providing students with the fundamental principles of Internet Computing and subsequently consolidating this with a creative approach to the design and management of digital media. Through an appreciation of Internet computing, an understanding of human computer interaction and web design and experience of the theory and practice of multimedia, students will be equipped with both the practical skills required by contemporary web design and design studios and the ability to adapt to future developments in digital industries. The students are taught to be a creative problem-solver with knowledge of graphic principles and a practical understanding of web design, including issues such as interactivity, navigation, accessibility and promotion. Core modules provide a systematic grounding in the use of XHTML and CSS, hand-coding and preparing images for the web, moving images for the web, dynamic content, and the application of web design across a range of professional and commercial contexts. Advanced modules address the requirements of professional web design projects, and explore innovative and radical approaches to web communication. The students will also be taught the technical aspects of web design in which they would understand the fundamentals of server-based scripting, database management and client-server technology. The students will also learn cutting edge creative web tools such as flash animations and flash Action-Scripts for a value-added advantage. Entry requirements · 2 principles STPM/'A'levels or equivalent or · 5 credits SPM/O'levels equivalent ∙ IELTS grade 5.0 or equivalent and · Limkokwing's Foundation in Design Students with a recognised certificate or diploma in a related field will be given advanced standing into the degree programme.
